First Grade Teacher Tells Students "About" Santa Claus - What is Your Opinion?

Image by MrDoS via FlickrThe holiday season has begun and my topic is a bit off the technology side of things today but I wonder what everyone thinks about a scenario where a first grade teachers tells her students there is no Santa Claus.

I learned of this situation recently. Apparently, the teacher felt it necessary to share this "fact" with her class.

So, my questions for you are:
1) Do you think the teacher was right or wrong to do this?
2) How would you feel as a parent if your child came home with this news?
